Can type 2 diabetes be reversed?

Yes. The aim of diabetes reversal is to lower blood sugar to normal levels through nutrition, while reducing and even eliminating the need for medications, including insulin. Do I have to pay anything for Virta?

No. When Virta is a fully covered benefit by your employer, you pay nothing. There are no co-pays. From the supplies to the expert medical care and health coaching, you get it all at no cost to you.

What do I get when I enroll for diabetes reversal?

Patients enrolled in Virta's type 2 diabetes reversal offering receive all the supplies they need to be successful, including a connected scale, glucose and ketone meter and strips, and access to all of Virta's resources through an easy to use smartphone application.

Virta patients are also assigned a dedicated care team who guides patients on their journey to better health.

Do I need a referral from my doctor to start Virta?

No referral is needed. Your Virta medical provider will become your diabetes reversal specialist and will communicate with your local medical team as needed to ensure continuity of care.

Virta is available to the National Elevator Industry Health Benefit Plan’s Active Members and covered retirees and their eligible dependents and individuals covered under COBRA. Virta’s programs are currently being offered to individuals 18 years or older with type 2 diabetes, type 1 diabetes, or prediabetes. Virta is also available to those with a BMI of 27 or greater and are interested in sustainable weight loss. There are some medical conditions that would exclude members from Virta’s programs.
