Two of our co-founders, Dr. Stephen Phinney and Dr. Jeff Volek, worked with The Ohio State University's Food Innovation Center to convene a group of esteemed scientists and researchers to discuss recent progress in the science of low carbohydrate nutrition. This symposium was hosted by the OSU Food Innovation Center and the video recordings were sponsored by Virta Health.Gary Taubes gave an insightful talk at the conference on the quality of calories. Taubes is a science and health journalist who has authored several books, including The Case Against Sugar (2016), Why We Get Fat: And What to Do About It (2010), Good Calories, Bad Calories (2007), Bad Science: The Short Life and Weird Times of Cold Fusion (1993), and Nobel Dreams (1987). Gary Taubes is also the co-founder of the non-profit Nutrition Science Initiative.
