  3. Combine miso, water, and ginger in a small bowl.

  5. Fry tofu until golden on both sides.
  6. Turn down the heat to low.
  7. Pour miso mixture over the tofu slices, making sure to evenly coat them.
  8. Continue to fry until the tofu begins to sizzle.
  9. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds prior to serving, if desired.
